The long weekend of 🇧🇻17th of May🇧🇻 and the Pentecostal with lot’s of sewing 🧵😊, good weather (warm!) and two new friends.

17th of May least we can’t say it was cold! We have had above +20 degrees Celsius the whole week. And today wasn’t it any different except that we have had mire wind. Last year was freezing cold.

After I’ve seen the 17th of May celebrations I walked back home. A walk in total of 4 km in mostly 🌤☀️…

Got home and had late breakfast out on my terrace  – a place I really enjoying because I haven’t had a terrace for the past three years .  I’ve been sewing and picking up what I sewed 😆😆 off and on the rest of the day when I haven’t been eating.

The 18th of May, and Pentecostal weekend, I picked up half of what I sewed the 17th 😝🤪😆.

The morning of 19th I figured that I could start on the inner lining or the inner bag for the backpacker. Much more easy!

I have also managed to walk with Saga 🐕 and her owner Hilde, for more than one hour.  Sewing some more and got one hour of a practical run 😊.

May 20th

I was happy for few minutes when my overlocker worked, but than after unpatienced when I didn’t manage to get the the one thread in place 🤬🤪.

But 😊 I am almost done with my new backsack/ backpacker 😊. Just few seams left 🤩. It actually starts to look like something 🤩.

Innerbag with pockets, made by Rest-pieces from other sewing projects. Which even one more time have to pick up the corner-seams 🤪 or move the smartphone pocket 🤪.
The front of this project. Rest-pieces from jeans and decorations of a rosehip.

I am getting there in small steps 🤪🤪. But I am so so pleased with it!

Winter break-24 – extra work and resting was the plan, part 1.

Monday 26th. It started good, after two weeks of back issues. It beame a beautiful day after the Sun came and the SFO-kids ripped of there winter jackets because of there play in the sunshine. We had BBQ after that I manage to make a BBQ fire and the kids was super hungry. They didn’t have time to wait for the real good part of the BBQ-fire ^^haha^^ I did though. I had one good hamburger and one less good ^^haha^^. But what I did, that I shouldn’t have done was sitting watching the fire, breath-in the smoke or even sit where I sat… I haven’t had such much issues breathing in a long time, but after 3 hours by the fire… omg, never again!

But the sadest, is my back! I had pain when I got home yesterday – that isn’t the surprise. No the surprise is that I had to roll out of bed this morning. The back had “locked itself”. I am as stiff as you can get I think 😦 . Had to call in sick 😦 . And here I am in my couch typing and trying t drink coffee…. and waiting on my wheat-pillow to get as cold as possible in the freezer to cool down my back. I hope my back gets as good as possible for some sewing. Because I started on a new project later yesterday evening.

A light blue stipe shirt that I bought on a 2ndhand store in mid February. Quite long on me but not long enough for what I want to use it for. Offcourse it’s not long enough, it’s a normal size for a man with shorter arms then me… But thanks to the second shirt I bought and sut off the arms on I can redesign the shirt with stripes :-).

I haven’t got much further on my *Summer dress yet, because I need to adjust it and make sure the pattern fits me and my body. And with this back that isn’t an opption right now. It just have to wait a bit.

This is my sketch and measurements.
The Yellow dress, is the one I’ll try to make.
This is the fabric, an old curtain 😊

So in the meantime I’ll do things I know I can. Yet this is my Daily life – to try to figure things out while they are resting from I am actually working with the projects with my hands I am working with them in my mind. Yet this is what I like with all my projects.

PS. You know all the things you see when you’re home and not so much after a long day at work… but when you’re home ‘sick’ from work you cant do them anyway…. that’s my home right now. It just has to wait. But thanks to the Lord, I can let it go and focus on being well again. DS.

What to do on a Sunday…

…when the back is sad. Well I have been fried meatballs and chops in the oven while I have spooled bobbin thread for all future sewing projects.

And now when the food is done I’m going to pop up the elastic band in a skirt that has worn too little 😆😆 or I’ve gained weight since I bought it 😆😆. And then I will reuse it in a wool coat after ❤Mom❤.

I do want to go to Church but my back is not in a good shape 😔😔 so I’ll stay home and being creative.

While I’m doing this I’ll be listening to preaching whether it’s on youtube or podcast it remains to be seen 😉. Anyway is it a big chance the Lord gives me something I need.

I have learned the last ten years, that I need to listen to my body first no matter what my head wants and I have peace for that I stay home some Sundays. Even if I both like and enjoy go to Church and trying to find new friends I just have to take it as it comes. 😉. And the Lord will still be with me wherever I am, home or at Church.

I am thankful for this weekend, I’ve managed much more than I thought I would. 😊.

Enjoy your Sunday wherever you are and let the Lord be a part of what you are doing. ✝️💒🙌🙏.

Good timing, Smart-watch, fabric, overlocker = Happines.

Two things.

The first; I ordered a new smart-watch about a month ago, but was send to the wrong adress so after approxy 3,5 – 4 weeks later it came to me 🤩🤩. And I love how precisly it counts my steps 🤩🤩. And the part of it was, the same day as I recived the note from the mailoffice it was delivered, my old smart-watch/fitbit broke in the way it wasn’t possible to wear it anymore.

My new smart-watch.
My old fitbit, broken.

The second; I have finally threaden🧵🧵 my overlocker 🤩🤩 it just took me 2 months 🤪😆😆. But with help from a YouTube video I nailed it.

Here is some of the tests I did last night (Friday March 11.)

I am now looking forward to use my overlocker the way I have used my sewing machine.

I still need a good sewing chair but I have patience, all thing will be good in the end. At least I have two working machines 🤩🤩.

Overandout. 😉

Creative and efficion Easter.

For you who don’t following me on Instagram only here.

As you know I am creative. This Easter I had a goal, to finish some of my sewing projects. Which I now have. 😊😊😊.

The red blouse with dots after a friend.

The black skirt after my mom.

The navy summer dress with pattern.

The second summer dress after my mom. The dress I remember her in, when I was a teenager.

Two or three sewing projects to spend time on, but those can take time. Or I need time on them before I know how I want them to end 😉.

Creative July 2019

July has nearly past.

A quite efficient month when it comes to sewing and redesign.

In the beginning of this month I sewed this toilet map that I use for my medication I need to have close for all kind of reasons, I did it by night just because I can, was awake and it’s Summer. 😉 The fabric was once a rain jacket, and now re-designed. It works perfect for it’s use!

This is my tunic (below) that before was a dress, long enough for me but I didn’t like the end of it so I cut it off and hand sewed the edges but after that I bought silk-needles for sewing machine I managed to sew it better and it looks even better now. I’m happy I managed to get over my *hate off silk.

Here, below, is two sewing-projects that I nearly just started. To the left, African cotton fabric that was a tunic and that I want to become Summer pants. To the right, also a tunic before with pattern I have sewn on to become shorts. Fabric linen. we’ll see how that goes in the end.

This is an other silk top project that I started last Summer and I just had to pack it away in last August-18 not really finish. And this July I finished it, by taking up old stitches, sew again, made it fit and shorten it. Now I’m happy with it and can pick up other projects that need to be fixed before I start to work in the middle of August-19. 🙂 (picture below)

In August it will hopefully be some more projects that has been on pause for a while, I can’t wait to start. I’m so thankful for chilly days like today and I’m hoping for some more. Warm day’s means less work for me, so like today when we have +18C I would have been sewing but not today… Maybe tomorrow.
